Yards of the Month winners for April 2015

5115 Evelyn Byrd: Judges have  been eying this magnificent yard for years. This spring, it’s as beautiful as ever, teeming with early blooming tulips. A spectacle like this takes work, and the owner can be found toiling away constantly.

2015 Westover Hills Blvd: The front yard slopes to the street and new brick walls have been built to terrace the yard. The grass is bright green (I couldn’t find even one dandelion). And the vinca ground cover is in bloom, along with jonquils and phlox. It’s interesting that on April, the judge toured the area east of the Boulevard and didn’t find an outstanding yard. A week later, there were several beautiful yards, and this one definitely stood out as a winner. Spring has finally “sprung.”

About the WHNA

Since 1978, the Westover Hills Neighborhood Association has worked to preserve, protect, and improve the quality of life in Westover Hills, a thriving community established in southwest Richmond in 1924. The Westover Hills Neighborhood Association offers a forum for residents to share new ideas and provides a unified voice for residents when communicating concerns and requests to city officials. Meetings, when they can safely resume, are held the second Tuesday of each month and are open to all neighbors.
