Southsiders for Walking and Biking to have cleanup August 8

Southsiders for Walking and Biking is having a Neighborhood Cleanup Day on Saturday, August 8, from 8-10am. We are going to clean up the debris and overgrown vegetation off of the sidewalk leading to the Nickel Bridge, which is greatly impeding the accessibility of the sidewalk for our community.

We will have bags, a pickup truck, a tent, and some cool water and snacks for volunteers. We should have a small amount of gloves, shovels, and brooms, but please bring some if you can. A gas powered leaf blower and weed eater would also be very helpful! Contact us at minnix1@verizon.net to let us know you are coming and if you bring any supplies. Meet on the sidewalk on Westover HIlls Blvd on the southside of the Nickel Bridge.

About the WHNA

Since 1978, the Westover Hills Neighborhood Association has worked to preserve, protect, and improve the quality of life in Westover Hills, a thriving community established in southwest Richmond in 1924. The Westover Hills Neighborhood Association offers a forum for residents to share new ideas and provides a unified voice for residents when communicating concerns and requests to city officials. Meetings, when they can safely resume, are held the second Tuesday of each month and are open to all neighbors.
