Southside Mayoral Forum on Sept. 20

All eight candidates running to be the next mayor of Richmond have agreed to speak the Southside Mayoral Forum on September 20 at 7 p. m. at the Forest Hill Presbyterian Church (4401 Forest Hill Avenue).

Sponsors of the event include the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association, Westover Hills Neighborhood Association, Willow Oaks/Clevedon Civic Association, Westlake Hills Civic Association, Southampton Hills Townhomes, Southampton Citizens Association, and Forest Hill Neighborhood Association.

The candidates for mayor are: Jon Baliles, Jack Berry, BJ Junes, Joe Morrissey, Michelle Mosby, Levar Stoney, Bruce Tyler, and Lawrence Williams

If you have a question you’d like to pose to the mayoral candidates, you can send it to Robley Jones at robleyj@aol.com ahead of the forum or pass it in on a card at the forum. A panel of screeners will screen all questions to eliminate those that do not relate to the office of mayor. Questions will be posed to all candidates (no individual questions), and candidates will field the questions on rotating order. The event is expected to last until about 9 p.m.

About the WHNA

Since 1978, the Westover Hills Neighborhood Association has worked to preserve, protect, and improve the quality of life in Westover Hills, a thriving community established in southwest Richmond in 1924. The Westover Hills Neighborhood Association offers a forum for residents to share new ideas and provides a unified voice for residents when communicating concerns and requests to city officials. Meetings, when they can safely resume, are held the second Tuesday of each month and are open to all neighbors.
