Public meeting on proposed storage facility on Dec. 6

In lieu of of WHNA’s scheduled meeting this Tuesday, December 6, the Westover Hills Neighborhood Association is encouraging all residents to attend a public meeting to discuss the building of a large storage facility on Forest Hill Avenue, at the location of the old Forest View Rescue Squad (5327 Forest Hill Avenue).

The developer of this proposed storage facility, Hanky LLC, is requesting a special use permit from the city to rezone the area from residential to commercial. We, along with residents of adjacent neighborhoods, believe that if this is passed, the development will be to the detriment of our neighborhood and our home values by increasing traffic and reducing safety.

Please come out on Tuesday, December 6 to the Forest View Rescue Squad building (5327 Forest Hill Avenue) at 6:30 p.m.  to speak out against the rezoning of this 2 acre parcel. If we make a strong case now, we can hopefully stop this development before it goes any further. Click here for talking points against this proposal which may be helpful for your advocacy.

If you can’t make it to the meeting, please take other action, such as signing the online petition (click here) or writing to Councilwoman Graziano and the City Planner in charge of this project, Matthew Ebinger matthew.ebinger@richmondgov.com.

We look forward to seeing you at our next WHNA meeting on January 10, 2017 at Cafe Zata.
