The popular summer music concert series, Music in the Park, is back starting Sunday, May 8, with Instant Karma (a Beatles tribute band). The event features free, live, local music from 6 to 8 p.m. in Forest Hill Park.
This year’s Music in the Park theme is “Tribute Band Summer,” and it features a great line-up of bands paying tribute to the Beatles, Neil Diamond, David Bowie, James Brown, the Talking Heads, and the Allman Brothers. Here’s the schedule for the rest of the season:
- June 12 (6 to 8 p.m.): Fear of Music – talking Heads
- July 10 (6 to 8 p.m.): Life On Mars – David Bowie
- August 7 (6 to 8 p.m.): Diamond Heist – Neil Diamond
- September 11 (5 to 7 p.m.): Big Pay Back – James Brown
- October 2 (5 to 7 p.m.): Skydog – The Allman Brothers
Music in the Park is brought to you by the Forest Hill Neighborhood Association, and sponsored by Westover Hills and Woodland Heights Neighborhood Associations, Sweet Frog, and Grow RVA (with special thanks to the office of Kathy Graziano and the City of Richmond Parks and Recreation).
