Home Tour: 5015 Riverside is a House with a View

The mid-century ranch at 5015 Riverside Drive, one of 8 homes on the 2019 Westover Hills Home Tour (May 5 from 1 to 5 pm), sits high on a bluff overlooking the James River. Every room of the house, custom designed in 1954 by a local architect, offers a view of the river! The latest renovations in 2010 created an open flow for living and entertaining by removing a wall separating the kitchen and leveling the sunken living room. The kitchen was totally updated, and the sunroom was converted to a generous deck. With its abundant natural light and soft gray walls, the home is ideal for displaying its many pieces of eclectic art. Don’t miss the piece “Les Hurleurs Aux Vents” in the guest room, by renowned Canadian artist, Dominic Besner, known for his colorful and textured paintings of masked figures. Paintings and lithographs by local artists, including Carol Neece, Carson Price, and Shepard Fairey, hang throughout the house, offering a fun and contemporary energy alongside a stunning selection of lighting fixture and furniture.

You can buy tickets to the home tour in advance at Westover Station (formerly Cafe Zata) or online right here.  On the day of the tour, tickets will be available at 5005 New Kent Road starting at 12:30 p.m.

About the WHNA

Since 1978, the Westover Hills Neighborhood Association has worked to preserve, protect, and improve the quality of life in Westover Hills, a thriving community established in southwest Richmond in 1924. The Westover Hills Neighborhood Association offers a forum for residents to share new ideas and provides a unified voice for residents when communicating concerns and requests to city officials. Meetings, when they can safely resume, are held the second Tuesday of each month and are open to all neighbors.
